HiNeighbor is operated by HiNeighbor LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("HiNeighbor", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using HiNeighbor you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

You must be at least 18, provide accurate information, and use the neighborhood where you actually live or own property. One account per person. Do not create an account for someone else, impersonate a neighbor, or use HiNeighbor if we have previously removed you.

HiNeighbor helps neighbors find each other, post projects, share tools, and coordinate a work day. We are not a party to any arrangement between neighbors. We do not perform the work, employ or license anyone, verify skills or credentials beyond what neighbors tell us, screen for criminal history, guarantee anyone will show up, or guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any work or tool.

HiNeighbor is for neighbor-to-neighbor help. It is not a marketplace for contractors soliciting business, except where that person genuinely lives in the neighborhood and is helping as a neighbor.

Do not use HiNeighbor to:

• Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or dox a neighbor.
• Post someone else's address, photos, or personal details without their consent.
• Spam, advertise unrelated services, run multi-level marketing, or scrape the platform.
• Offer or request anything illegal, unlicensed where a license is required, or unsafe.
• Misrepresent who you are, what you can do, or the condition of a tool you lend.
• Interfere with the platform's security or access data you were not given.

We may remove content, limit features, or close an account that breaks these rules or puts neighbors at risk.

You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone you invite onto your property. Use judgment before starting anything involving heights, electricity, gas, plumbing, structural changes, tree removal, or work that requires a permit or a licensed professional - and get a professional when that is the right call. Hank's suggestions, cost comparisons, and schedules are estimates to help you plan, not professional advice.

Check whether your homeowner's or renter's insurance covers helpers on your property, and follow local permit rules. HiNeighbor does not provide insurance of any kind.

Keep your password to yourself, use an accurate name and neighborhood, and do not create an account for someone else or hand yours over. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away at support@hineighbor.ai if you think someone else has access to it.

Hank drafts plans, task lists, cost ranges, and weather notes to help you think. It is assistance, not professional advice, and it can be wrong. Check anything that affects money, safety, permits, or structural work with a qualified person before you rely on it. Cost and value figures are estimates only, not quotes or appraisals. Do not paste other people's private information into Hank, and do not use AI features to generate harassing, deceptive, or unlawful content.

Do not scrape, crawl, or bulk-collect neighbor information, resell access, probe or interfere with our systems, bypass visibility or access controls, send unsolicited commercial messages, or use HiNeighbor to advertise a business to a neighborhood you do not live in. Automated access is only allowed with our written permission.

Review only work you were actually part of, describe your own experience honestly, and do not trade, buy, or pressure anyone for a rating. We may remove reviews that are false, retaliatory, off-topic, or that include someone's private information.

Some parts of HiNeighbor rely on other companies for maps, email, sign-in, AI models, and card payments. Their own terms apply to those pieces, and we are not responsible for how a third-party service performs.

Tool lending, borrowing, deposits, food, favors, and any money are arranged directly between neighbors. Agree in advance on what is being lent, for how long, what condition it comes back in, and what happens if something breaks. Where a project uses card payment, a third-party processor handles it and its terms also apply. HiNeighbor does not hold funds, does not guarantee payment, and is not responsible for a lost, damaged, or unreturned tool.

HiNeighbor is free for neighbors today. If we ever introduce a paid feature, we will tell you the price before you are charged, and you will never be billed for something you did not choose.

You keep ownership of the text, photos, and lists you post. You grant HiNeighbor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of operating the service and showing it to the neighbors you selected. You are responsible for having the rights to what you post. Deleting your content or your account ends that license going forward.

How we handle your information, and the controls you have over what neighbors see, is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

Report unsafe behavior, bad content, or a neighbor who did not honor an arrangement to support@hineighbor.ai. If you believe content infringes your copyright, send a notice with the details to the same address and we will respond as required by the DMCA.

HiNeighbor is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any project will be completed.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HiNeighbor is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, property damage, or personal injury arising out of interactions between neighbors. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold HiNeighbor harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your content, the work you do or receive, or your breach of these Terms.

We would much rather solve a problem than argue about it - email us first and give us 30 days to work it out. If we cannot, disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration on an individual basis, and not as a class action, except that either party may bring a claim in small-claims court. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any arbitration or court proceeding that is not subject to arbitration will take place in Wyoming or, if both of us agree, remotely. Where local consumer law gives you non-waivable rights, those rights still apply.

You may opt out of arbitration by emailing us within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, and opting out costs you nothing. Arbitration is administered on an individual basis; neither of us may act as a class representative or join claims. Any claim must be brought within one year of when it arose, where the law allows that limit.

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date and, when it matters, emailed to you. You can stop using HiNeighbor and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that violates these Terms or creates risk for the community.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about HiNeighbor. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing something once does not waive it later. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them to an affiliate or in connection with a sale of the business. Neither of us is liable for a failure caused by events outside reasonable control, such as a natural disaster or an outage at a provider. You agree we may communicate with you electronically, and that electronic notices, agreements, and consents satisfy any requirement that they be in writing. The sections on content license, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and disputes survive the end of your account.

Our Community Guidelines are part of these Terms. They spell out in plain language how neighbors treat each other here, what is never allowed, and how we handle a report. Breaking them counts as breaking these Terms.

While HiNeighbor is invite only, an invite code is a one time key meant for the person it was given to. Do not sell, publish, or bulk share codes, and do not use a code that was not meant for you. We may retire a code, close the waitlist, or change how access works, and we will tell you before it affects an account you already have.

Messages here are for genuine neighborly conversation. No bulk outreach to neighbors you do not know, no commercial pitches to people who did not ask, and no using the directory as a mailing list. When Hank sends a message for you, it is labeled as coming from Hank on your behalf, and you are still responsible for what it says. Anyone can block you, and we may limit messaging for an account that is generating complaints.

We may hide or remove content, limit a feature, pause an account, or close it when something breaks these Terms or puts neighbors at risk. Except where speed matters for safety, we will tell you what happened and why. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that notice or email support within 30 days and a different person will review it. We will restore anything we removed by mistake.

HiNeighbor does not run advertising networks and does not sell your attention. If we ever offer a local business a way to post, it will be clearly labeled as sponsored, it will follow the same community rules as everyone else, it will not be built on tracking you, and it must be truthful, legal, and relevant to the neighborhood it appears in. We can decline or remove any sponsored post for any reason.

If you send us an idea, a bug report, or a wish for what to build next, thank you. You are giving us permission to use it freely to improve HiNeighbor, with no obligation and no payment. Features labeled beta or early may change or disappear, and they come with the same as is disclaimers as the rest of the service.
